The Fire Risk Assessor Role

The role is ideal for a self-starter who is either a current fire risk assessor, from a fire service (fire safety), local authority building control or a health and safety background.

Day-to-day responsibilities are:

  • Undertaking fire risk assessments in accordance with nationally recognised legislation guidance in the Ardvernis-approved format, to a high standard in a timely manner.

  • Using the Riskhub software platform and on-site app to create fire risk assessments. Managing your own workload and property lists.

  • Communicate regularly and clearly with the operations team and continually manage expectations.

Ardvernis fire risk assessors must have a full, clean driving license and access to their own vehicle. The role includes a combination of travel to undertake site-based inspections, and computer-based assessment writing up and submission.

Essential experience:

1. A recognised fire risk assessment qualification

2. Experience of fire risk assessment to include residential and/or social housing properties

Desirable experience:

1. Qualification in a fire safety-related discipline (HNC or above)

2. Experience or qualification in building construction

3. Full membership of a relevant professional body (IFE, RICS, CABE, CIOB)

The Team

Our people are motivated, supportive and proud of our craft, pulling together as a team when things feel hard, and celebrating success whenever we can.

Reporting to the operations team, the fire risk assessor will be responsible for conducting site-based fire risk assessments on our clients’ largely residential portfolios.

You will receive ongoing CPD training to meet IFE learning criteria but will stay independently up-to-date on current fire safety legislation and best practice. You will become part of an engaged team that meets for regular training sessions and shares learnings and experience through an online forum.

Few roles can combine working within such a rewarding sector and in such a diverse, varied and challenging position. Expect a welcoming environment where you will get exposure to a broad range of strategic issues, and work with a high performing team. The role would suit an ambitious individual who is keen to excel and progress with a young and dynamic company.

We offer competitive rates of pay along with:

  • In-house training and continuous professional development

  • A motivated and supportive team behind you

If this opportunity excites you, please get in touch.

Please send a copy of your CV and a covering letter to info@ardvernis.com explaining why the company interests you, why the role interests you, and what you think you could bring to it. We will then create a shortlist of applicants to proceed to interview.

We may require a second interview for which we will set a short task ahead of time. This will be so that we can see how you approach things and explain your ideas, rather than anything to worry about. We will confirm this nearer the time for qualifying applicants.

For any unsuccessful applicants, we are very happy to provide feedback upon request. Good luck!
